| "Synaptic Surge" is an elegant, small executive's desk knife featuring a blade of accordianed mosaic Damascus steel with a composite explosion pattern cutting edge, forged by Johan Gustofsson. Deep etched and chemically colored, with milled accents. The matching bolsters are etched and heat colored accordioned mosaic Damascus, also forged by Johan Gustofsson, with 3mm Peridot and 4mm Rhodilite Garnet cabs set in 18k royal yellow Gold. The bolsters are contoured together with, and flawlessly hand fit to the premium grade Abalone shell scales (with 3mm Peridot, 4mm Rhodilite Garnets set in 18k royal yellow gold and 4mm Blue Paua shell cabs). The liners are 6al4v titanium; file-worked, 3-color anodized (blue, orange, pink) with 2.5mm Garnet set upside down in 18k royal yellow Gold. The tang wrap is CP titanium, file-worked and 4-color anodized (green, purple, bronze, blue). The spine features an Abalone inlay, two 4 color/metal alloy (Sterling Silver, Copper, Shibichi, Shakudo) Mokume-Gane inlays, one 22k rose Gold and Sterling Silver Mokume-Gane inlay, and a semi-transparent shell inlay with cropped face picture underlay. Piercing/lanyard ring of 18k yellow gold with steel bead. 8 1/2". |
