This large double-edged fantasy dagger with subtle mid-eastern styling, flows uninterrupted from tip to tip through its subtle "S" shape and polished surfaces. The textures of the eight-bar composite Turkish Twist pattern Damascus blade and handle play well off of each other, and are tied together at the transition point through a 600 layer Random patterned Damascus bolster, whose pattern forms concentric circles radiating outwards, and cascading softly down towards the blade's ricasso. The handle is very comfortable and very substantial; it is a nearly solid piece of cast bronze, molded from a springbuck horn; I made a rubber and plaster mold of the animal horn, poured hot wax into the mold, let it cool and harden, and then took it through the traditional steps of lost-wax casting. After casting and clean up, I heavily nickel plated it, antiqued and finally polished. It is easy to see how this piece translates through tactility its true exotic power. It also came with an accompanying sheath in steer, stingray, elephant, and kangaroo.

This knife appeared in the following publications: in the book "The Contemporary Blacksmith" published in 2000, on the cover of the Dec. 1999 Swiss magazine "Internationales Waffen - Magazin", in the Feb. '98 issue of "Knives Illustrated", and in the Oct. '97 issue of "Blade" magazine.
