This commissioned knife was my first miniature. My client was looking for a very small, everyday carry knife that he could attach to his key ring; totally high-end, that also really utilized my background in jewelry. I was intrigued, but due to its size, I was quite limited in terms of what I could do design wise. I finally accepted the project after I was able to come up with a suitable design for the intended application and parameters. I needed to know that I would still be able to manage incorporating a little bit of my signature style. The fact that I had never built a miniature folder before, also made up for some of its design limitations; I felt that I could be challenged on some new levels. It definitely had its own unique set characteristics. Some applications were easy, due to its small size, while others were much more difficult. In the end I was quite satisfied with the result. I think I was still able to realize my ideal of what a "Jensen Knife" should encompass. All in all, an interesting and successful project.
